Fulham 1-2 Chelsea (CC QF)

Lucky to win this one. Fulham much improved from our last meeting. Duff gave us the lead in the 55th minute with a deflected shot. Fulham equalised through McBride. Then van der Sar let Lampard's 20-yard shot slip embarrassingly through his hands to hand us the win in the 88th minute.

Charlton Athletic 0-4 Chelsea

Utterly dominant. Duff opened scoring in the 4th minute. Charlton managed to keep it at just 0-1 for the rest of the half, but in the opening minutes of the second half Terry headed in our second. And another just a couple of minutes later. Then Eidur rounded off the afternoon with the 4th. Arse play the hobbling Scousers tomorrow, so for now we are leading by 5 points.

Chelsea 0-0 Paris St. Germain

Bore draw. Lost 100% win record. Big deal. We deserved a rest, as Jose said.

Chelsea 2-2 Bolton Wanderers

I'm actually watching it live. A momentous occasion that nearly merits exclamation marks.

2-1 up now. Cech made a mistake --- that's how they scored. Wonders never cease. Chelsea goals by Duff and Tiago, early in each half.

Had to happen didn't it. 5 minutes left and it's 2-2. Guddy hit the post minutes earlier. Feck.

"We deserve it. We've been shit."
I concur.

Fulham 1-4 Chelsea

Robben is really driving our present goal-rush. Could afford to be denied two clear penalties, and have Eidur and Smertin miss sitters, but still win by three.

First goal, at least, not due to the Dutch genius. Lampard with an unstoppable freekick from 40 yards out.

Fulham equalised with a smasher of their own, Baba Diop volleying in a headed clearance.

But we hit back barely two minutes later, Robben weaving his way through the Fulham penalty box and stroking home in what is getting to be a familiar sight.

Then Gallas with a diving header off a Lampard freekick.

And finally, beautiful interplay between Tiago and Robben leaving Tiago to whip the ball in.

Still top then. Arse won, but it was against the Yids, with a "hockey score" (as Mourinho disdainfully called it) of 5-4.

Newcastle United 0-2 Chelsea (Carling Cup 4th round)

The score belies how poor we were in the 90 minutes of normal playing time. Newky had by far more chances, Cudicini rescuing us quite a few times.

We held on, and in extra time two substitutes won the game for us. The much-maligned Guddy with a low shot bouncing in off the bar, and then Robben with a real peach of a solo goal, ghosting past two defenders on his run across half the pitch and burying it. As if anyone else needed to be convinced of his talent after his first two goals.

We will face Fulham in the quarter-finals. Arse and Manure were drawn against one another.

Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Robben the winner again. Tight game by all accounts. We had a few more good chances than Everton, who had a couple of free headers. Then Guddy, who had been pretty shit for the rest of the game, lofted a perfect ball over the top for Robben, who easily outpaced the Everton defence and lofted it over Martyn.

Arse continued their poor run by drawing with Crystal Palace, leaving us two points clear at the top of the table.

CSKA Moscow 0-1 Chelsea

Good first half, brilliant goal from link-up play between Robben and Duff, dire second half including a horrific display from Johnson who conceded a penalty to CSKA that they blasted over Beckscum style.

Unless PSG beat us by four goals or something like that, we're through.

Arse continue screwing up their campaign. Got a soft lead through a penalty that wasn't, Panathinaikos blast their penalty over, and finally Cygan puts the ball in his own net. Hilarious. But I suppose one should discount revenge in favour of CL distraction, and hope Arse still go through anyway. Hopefully with much trouble.

I have noticed that for the past two seasons I lost all enthusiasm for blogging match reports around March. The season is a tad too long for my concentration span, it seems.

West Bromwich Albion 1-4 Chelsea

Crap first half, as JM himself admitted. Lucky to go in 1 up with a Gallas poke-in from a corner in the only minute of injury time. Great improvement in second half. Robben with another flashy display in place of Cole, who had been tiresomely ineffective. Duff crossed from the left, Guddy scored with a diving header. West Brom hit back when Cech palmed a Kanu shot into the path of Gera, who belted it in from the edge of the penalty box. But minutes later Chelsea restored the two goal cushion as West Brom gave the ball away sloppily to Lampard, who ran 30-40 yards with it before finding Duff, who finished coolly. Last goal was a long-range shot low inside the post from Lampard, the kind he belted in regularly last season but hasn't (until now) this season.

Arse were losing to Soton until their late 89th minute equaliser. Manure lose to Portsmouth. 'Pool's main striker Cisse gets his leg horribly broken. Another good week for Chelsea.
